Bernardo is a licensed public relations practitioner with over 23 years of experience in public relations and marketing communications. He is currently president and founder of The Big Think Group, one of the leading and most innovative communications agencies in Puerto Rico. TBTG provides a variety of services and specialty areas for clients in a diversity of industries including telecommunications, pharmaceutical, automotive, retail, food and beverage and technology, among others.
Prior to founding The Big Think Group in 2003, Fiol-Costa served as Communications Manager for SunCom/AT&TWireless (now T-Mobile Puerto Rico), where he spearheaded all internal and external communications strategies, including media relations, crisis management, employee and community relations, special events, promotions and executive positioning.
Before joining SunCom Wireless in 1999, Fiol-Costa was Communications Director of the Municipality of San Juan. Prior to his government experience, he worked at Hill and Knowlton Puerto Rico and Grey Public Relations.
Fiol-Costa has received numerous awards from the Public Relations Association of Puerto Rico, including 2014 Best Public Relations Campaign and 2 Paco Oller Awards, the highest recognition bestowed by the Association; as well as honors from the Puerto Rico Sales and Marketing Executive Association and a Platinum MarCom Award from the Association of Marketing and Communications Professionals.
Fiol-Costa has a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations with a minor in Marketing and Film from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
