Marisa Vallbona, APR, Fellow PRSA founded CIM Inc PR, a Public Relations firm with more than two decades of expertise having worked with more than 90 companies ranging from world-renowned brands to start-ups. She also is the co-founder of PRConsultants Group (PRCG), a national network of PR firms with offices in every major market and Puerto Rico and is the Houston member of the organization. She and two partners sketched plans on cocktail napkins to form the organization in 1999 while at an industry conference, and within two years, the network was featured as the cover story of Inc Magazine’s September 2001 issue, and in a chapter of the book Alpha Dogs, How Your Small Business Can Become a Leader of the Pack. Her work on PRCG teams for successful PR campaigns has led her to win four Silver Anvil Awards and a Silver Anvil Best of Show from the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) She recently served on the national board of directors of the Public Relations Society of America for five years, chaired the Universal Accreditation Board that grants accreditation to public relations professionals, and was inducted into the PRSA College of Fellows, one of the industry’s highest honors awarded to a small percentage of professionals. When she’s not working, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling between her homes in Houston and San Diego, and surfing the Pacific and Gulf Coast waves.
