Melanie Berry McCraney launched McCraney Communications in 2000. A journalist at heart, Melanie is an award-winning public relations practitioner and corporate communications specialist with more than 30 years of experience in PR, corporate communications, and media management.
Melanie’s media career started in the newsroom. For more than a decade, she worked in broadcast journalism, reporting, anchoring and producing documentaries, hosting a talk show and managing news operations for Alabama’s leading National Public Radio affiliate which included filing stories for NPR’s All Things Considered and Morning Edition.
As News Director and Anchor for top-rated radio stations, she received numerous Associated Press Broadcast Awards, including “Best Investigative Reporting,” “Best Anchor,” and ” Best Newscast.” She also served as a national Judge for the Edward R. Murrow Awards.
Melanie’s PR approach focuses on building brand messaging frameworks that ensure communications are clear, consistent, and aligned with business goals.
